You have probably seen the news that NASA has officially announced the discovery of running water on Mars, water that flows on the surface when the temperature is warm enough. This has major implications for the eventual settlement of Mars by humans, something that I certainly expect to happen in this century.
Interestingly we wrote about water on Mars as far back as 2000 and 2008, when early Mars images seemed to suggest the likelihood of flowing liquids. But NASA is famously conservative in their announcements and only now confirm the evidence that was there to see.
