If you follow renewable energy developments and discussions you have probably seen the conspiracies and crazies, lies and falsehoods, doubts and distractions that pop up regularly in the comments sections of shared articles and videos. Or, even originate dramatically in posts of doctored and out-of-context images flaming wind turbines and landfills full of solar panels.
These liars and detractors need to be called out for what they are, not arguments, not reasoned responses to the energy transition, but fabrications dreamt up by think tanks in service to legacy interests.
When I speak at conferences there are always discussions around this and the biggest lessen I share is to CHECK YOUR SOURCES.
