I have to start this article by saying that although I am in demand, work and challenge my clients to think bigger about our hopeful futures, and have a lot of fun doing that no-one has actually voted me the ‘Number 1 Futurist in the World’. And, that is fine with me.
It always makes me chuckle when I see these accolades of ‘best’, ‘top’, ‘#1’, ‘top futurist speaker’, or whatever to somehow put ourselves at the top of a list for consideration. It must be terribly confusing and not so useful for hard-working event planners and executives looking for trusted Futurists to work with.
The truth is there are thousands of hard-working, amazing futurists out in the world. I actively see these folk out and have as many conversations with them as possible – you can see some on my Exponential Minds Podcast.

In September 2023 I had the pleasure of presenting to 37,000 people for one of my global clients. The events agency and client won ‘Best Corporate Conference 2023’ for that – it sure was a lot of fun. I also drew on that energy for my 2025 showreel.

In February 2023 I released ‘Facing Our Futures: How foresight, futures design and strategy creates prosperity and growth’.
In that I draw upon decades of experience as a consultant and futurist to provide readers with the skillset and outlook they need to prepare their organization, team and themselves for whatever obstacles the future may hold. CEOs, executive teams, government leaders and policy makers need to gain a broader perspective and a firmer grasp on how their relevant industry, society or community is evolving and changing. Once they have acquired this foresight, they need to then discover how to fully harness it – by strengthening their foundations, forecasting and establishing a resilient and adaptable strategy.
